Date: March 6, 2025 - Sew day will be held from 10:00am to 11:30AM on this sew day due to the Quilt Show quilt entry drop off times at the Activity Center coinciding. We will be doing a smaller group project: Bookmarks. This way our project can be finished in our shortened sewing time.

Bring your quilt tops and we can explore all the options to help you get your next favorite quilt finished.

Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild is sponsoring a class with Diane (Knott) Vandiver in January 13, 2025.  The class will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin.  

 "Learn the techniques for paper piecing and sewing curves for excellent results every time!  Find out for yourself that curves are NOT scary!  Suitable for confident beginners through advanced quilters.  Table runner version is the featured project in this workshop that covers basic 'flip & sew' paper piecing as well as template sewing.  Handouts are included, pattern purchase is required."   The photo shows Christmas-like colors, but this would look good in reproduction fabrics, Aunt Grace...even neon!  We will need 20 class participants for this workshop, so sign up with friends.  Cost will be $40 (plus your pattern purchase). Class starts at 9:30 at the Messiah Lutheran Gym. We'll take a lunch break, so bring your lunch or go out to get a bite! 

Please be prepared to pay for the pattern on the day of the event, if you don’t already have it.

That evening, at the Nimble Thimbles Guild meeting, Diane will give a program called "Celebrate with Quilts" . She will share how and why she makes quilts to celebrate any occasion and how we can make more quilts with less stress. This trunk show features her newest quilts as well as many of her favorites.

Program: Guest Speaker Cheryl Brickey of Meadow Mist Designs “Just Two Charm Pack Quilts”. Trunk show showing 16 quilts from the “Just Two Charm Packs” book, with fun tidbits, stories and more about each design and quilt.

Cheryl will have a pop up shop for our guild. She will have copies of the book she will be doing a trunk show for as well as patterns and other books.  She will be offering a special guild deal where if one purchases a book you get two additional patterns for free. She accepts credit card, cash, venmo, and check!

Guild Program: Marnie Schwartz-Hanley of Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce

Marnie Schwartz-Hanley, President and CEO of Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce will be our guest speaker. On Marnie’s LinkedIn page she states “Bringing small groups together to do big things is a passion of mine. Public health and wellness is crucial to a well functioning society. Entrepreneurship is a true pathway out of poverty & mentors make the world go ‘round”. Speaking with Marnie you will learn she has a true passion for connecting people with opportunities and organizations that can promote well being, health and opportunities for personal growth and development.

Busy Bees Quilt Guild recently became a member of the Fountain Inn Chamber of Commerce and will be listed as a community organization. Come hear what Marnie has to say about being a chamber member and learn a little something about the 41st Annual Aunt Het Festival.

Carole Carter “Scrap Dance”

How many scraps of material have you saved? Do you have uneven pieces from cutting, partial yard leftovers, old clothes you can’t stand to give away because of the fabric or pretty embroidery, bits and pieces of this and that. Have you ever said any, or all of those things? There is a way to use those scraps, but there are a few things you need to know. Come hear Carole’s lecture on August 13!

Carole writes a quilting and lifestyle blog called From My Carolina Home, encompassing her many interstate's including quilting, sewing, crafting, cooking, gardening and more. Her quilts have won awards at the NC State Fair and the Wester Carolina Quilt Guild, and have been shown in the juried American Quilting Society show in Charlotte, and the Mancuso MidAtlantic Wearable Arts Show. Carole is the pattern designer of the Scrap Dance series, does and annual mystery quilt along, the annual October event of Autumn Jubilee, and patterns for Moda Bake Shop and Fat Quarter Shop. She has two pattern published in Quilt and More Magazine.
